Brighton and Hove Albion have decided that Zadok Yohanna will remain with the first-team squad for the 2026/27 season, ruling out a loan move for the young winger.

According to reports, the Premier League club want the 18-year-old to continue his development internally after joining from Swedish side AIK Stockholm in a deal worth £21.5 million last month.

Brighton saw off competition from Newcastle United and Chelsea to secure the highly rated talent, who contributed five goals and four assists in 18 appearances for AIK.

Yohanna is expected to feature in pre-season and is already included in Fabian Hurzeler’s long-term plans.

The Brighton head coach has spoken highly of the youngster, praising his creativity and ability in the final third while stressing the importance of patience as he adapts to English football and the demands of the Premier League environment at the Amex Stadium.
